About the Event
Rotary District 5130 is coordinating a World Polio Torch Relay to raise awareness around the fight to end polio in the world. The relay will start in Crescent City and continue down into Petaluma.
An Olympic torch will be carried from Rotary club to Rotary club along the route. It will reach Santa Rosa on Sunday, October 18th.
The four Rotary clubs in Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa East/West, Santa Rosa Sunrise and Valley of the Moon in Oakmont) have planned a fun community walk to take the torch from the Windsor Rotary Club and pass it on to the two Sebastopol Rotary clubs (Sebastopol and Sebastopol Sunrise).
The community walk will start at the Santa Rosa Junior College entrance arch. Once everyone is gathered, the walk to commence to the Courthouse Square (approximately one mile) where we will meet other participants. The group will then walk half a…
