About the Event
Join our twice-a-month Rotary Club meeting at Chop's Teen Club. There is parking onsite and on the street. The 6th Street Playhouse has also generously offered their parking lot for overflow parking, should we need it.
Topic: The Doyle Scholarship and SRJC at a Crossroads
Mike Von der Porten has been investigating Santa Rosa Junior College for the past five years A SRJC graduate, Mike has been interested in changes at the school.
He is the one citizen who has attended the various Brown Act meetings at the school and through California Public Records Act requests has examined several areas of the college.
A bellwether for the college are changes in the Doyle Scholarship. Originally designed to serve scholars with significant stipends that allowed them the freedom to pursue academics, the Doyle has become a low-value, “everyone gets a prize” payout.
