Join our twice a month Rotary Club meeting at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa.
Topic: Operations of the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Department
Evelyn Mendez is the first standalone Sonoma County Registrar of Voters. The new department was created in January 2025. Previously, Sonoma County elections were handled by the elected Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters office. The Clerk-Recorder-Assessor continues to be an elected position.
Mendez comes from the County of Santa Clara, where she served as a division manager in the Registrar of Voters Department for six years. She previously worked in the California Secretary of State Elections Division, working up to become a program manager.
“With her robust experience in running elections, Evelyn Mendez will continue to uphold the integrity and trust in our election system,” said Supervisor Lynda Hopkins, chair of the Board of Supervisors.
