Join us for our twice a month Rotary Club meeting at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa.
Topic: Home Hardening for Wildfires with Fred Peterson
Fred Peterson grew up in South San Francisco. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy and spent 4 years in the Southwest Pacific and Vietnam as a radioman. Upon separation Fred attended UC Santa Cruz leaving UCSC after a year to work in vineyards and wineries for two years.
He then enrolled in UC Davis, graduating with a degree in Viticulture and Enology in 1978. During his time at UCD Fred spent two summers working on a US Forest Service fire crew out of Plumas National Forest. After graduation he worked in the Salinas Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains before moving to the Dry Creek Valley in the 1980’s to develop vineyards in partnership with a friend, Bill Hambrecht.
