Arundo Removal Project

Please join us! Arundo Donax removal along the Russian River is one of three top priorities of Russian Riverkeepers, as it turns our river from a natural fire break to a bridge for fires to intensify and spread. Arundo is incredibly flammable, burns intensely and in wind events can cast embers to rapidly spread a fire. Arundo is also a water hog that takes millions of gallons per acre from the river every year and displaces native vegetation that supports fish and wildlife. The benefits to its removal are many. The Rotary Club of Windsor and the Rotary Club of Healdsburg noon are hosting an Arundo Donax removal day working side-by-side with Russian Riverkeepers. We invite you to join. We are limited to 60 volunteers.
